Wk 15- Classmate Conversation- Maddy Braverman, Full circle

So I wanted my last blog post to come full circle and really appreciate the goal of this assignment. I wanted to go back to my very first classmate conversation and reflect on how much more I’ve gotten to know Maddy throughout this class and the semester. I knew her prior to the semester starting through our sorority, but there are 137 girls in our chapter so it’s truly difficult to genuinely get to know every single girl on a one on one level deeply. I still have a lot to learn about Maddy, but thanks to this class I was given an opportunity to just see more of her everyday personality. Maddy is just a genuinely sweet and caring person. She is one of the very rare people that genuinely wants to know and be there for all the people in the world. She loves the diversity of our campus and how there are something various different things to do. If she could, she would start a “Dear Sally” type category to help people work through or vent  so she could be there for everyone. She always has something fun to do or enjoy and she really likes that. Her positivity is contagious and just spreads to those her around her. She’s taken a lot away from the class, but that’s no surprise considering how active of a participant she is. She thinks it’s really great to have a relationship with professors and feeling comfortable enough to talk to your professor one on one. She took away an importance of speaking her mind and contributing to the class discussions. She also learned how to lead a class lecture for a huge class. She gained a lot more respect for professors because of this. She also learned about artists and friendships too. Within our chapter Maddy has stepped up and done an amazing job as our sunshine chair. I’m on our executive board and this semester has been challenging to say the least. Every Monday at meeting Maddy honestly made even the most stressful of days seem better. If she noticed I was stressed she would reassure me and honestly knowing I at least had some sort of support from the chapter made all the difference for me. I’m definitely not the only one who she has affected  either. She has truly helped to keep our chapter together and I am so thankful for all she has done. She is so passionate about all that she does and it just inspires the people around her. She is inspired by the altruistic things around her and the people that find all the good and the bad in situations. Maddy is one of those truly beautiful people that you are just lucky to meet. I feel extremely privileged to have gotten the chance to get to know her.
